Chapter 13: An Evening of Real Harmony

One year after the fateful gala at the Bellevue Palace, Thomas and Helen hosted the inaugural benefit for the Grace & Haven Foundation.
The event was held in the very same grand ballroom where Helen had once knelt in tears. But this evening, the room was transformed.
There were no velvet ropes separating the elite from the servants. At every candlelit circular table, corporate leaders, foreign ambassadors, and philanthropists sat side-by-side with hospital cleaners, hotel housekeepers, and foster care workers. The staff serving the dinner were treated with the utmost courtesy and paid five times the standard industry rate, honored as essential partners of the evening.
When Thomas and Helen entered the room, the entire assembly rose to their feet in thunderous, heartfelt applause.
Helen wore a gown of midnight blue silk, simple and breathtakingly elegant, complemented only by the antique sapphire on her finger. Leo walked proudly between them, wearing a sharp little tuxedo with a navy bowtie, waving happily to the guests.

Taking the stage beneath the Austrian crystal chandelier, Tom adjusted the microphone and looked out at the diverse, beautiful crowd.
"One year ago, on this very floor, my life was saved," Tom said, his voice echoing with deep resonance. "I was a man who owned the world, yet possessed nothing of value. My wife and my son taught me that true power is not found in dominating others, but in lifting them up. Tonight, we celebrate the truth that every soul in this room deserves dignity, protection, and love."
